December 13, 2016 at Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Burbank, CA. Allan Thicke has died from a stroke. Alan thicke was recently on Fuller House and Candace Cameron Blue had this to say:
I’m sad beyond words that Alan Thicke has passed away. I’ve known you since I was 8 years old and so glad I had the pleasure of working with you again so recently on Fuller House. You were a part of my family and hockey family. You will be greatly missed. ❤️ My heart hurts.
Alan Thicke suffered a heart attack while playing hockey with his 19-year-old son. Witnesses say he was coherent and talking as EMTs were taking him. Darin Mathewson, vice president of Pickwick Gardens ice skating rink in Burbank, California was the one who called 911 who was a regular at the facility. Mathewson told ET that the Growing Pains alum was vomiting at first, but that he was “coherent” and speaking to Carter when emergency responders arrived. He had pain in his chest and his color was not good. He was a little gray. When the ambulance got here they checked his vitals and put him on the gurney.
Thicke was born Alan Willis Jeffrey on March 1, 1947 in Kirkland Lake, Ontario, the son of Shirley “Joan” Isobel Marie (née Greer), a nurse, and William Jeffrey, a stockbroker. They divorced in 1953. His mother remarried to Brian Thicke, a physician, and they moved to Elliot Lake. Thicke graduated from Elliot Lake Secondary School in 1965, and was elected homecoming king.He went on to attend the University of Western Ontario, where he joined the Delta Upsilon fraternity.
Alan Thicke played Jason Seaver, a psychiatrist and father, on the family sitcom Growing Pains. When the show began, Jason was moving his psychiatry practice into the home to be closer to the family’s children while the family matriarch Maggie, played by Joanna Kerns, resumed her career as a reporter. Growing Pains debuted on ABC in 1985 and ran until 1992.
Thicke was married three times: His first marriage, to Days of Our Lives actress Gloria Loring, lasted from 1970 until around 1984; they had two sons, Brennan and Robin(the more famous of the two). He started dating actress Kristy Swanson when she was 17 years old in 1986 and got engaged to her two years later when he was 42. He married his second wife, Miss World 1990 Gina Tolleson, on August 13, 1994, and had a son, Carter William Thicke, before their divorce was finalized on September 29, 1999. In 1999, he met Tanya Callau in Miami, where he was a celebrity host and she was a model. They were married from 2005 until his death.
