The new developer video above lists all the exciting changes coming to Overwatch. One of the major changes that everyone is talking about is Symmetra and her dual Ultimates. The dual ultimate will still maintain the original teleporter, but also include a new shield generator that provides regenerative health for the entire team; As long as the shield generator is not destroyed. The Second major change is that the teleporter will also self heal, so it will take a concerted effort by the opposing team to take it down.
The third change they discussed was the slight increase in the range of her photon beam. This is a great change, as some times the photon would only grab on when a character filled up the entire field of vision. Now you will be able to attack with a little more space in between you and the attacking character. This will help with close combat characters like Reaper and Roadhog.
One of the main advantages of Symmetra when the update releases fully, is the ability to use Symmetra in a more balanced way. There will be people that complain about this new ultimate but in the end, this makes symmetra a very viable, all around character, that should now be seen more often during Comp Matches. The blizzard team has done a good job at filtering out the complaints and making changes based on what will actually balance the playing field online.
This is one of the first times I have seen a Game Company so invested, in ensuring that the only play experience is both fun and balanced at the same time. This make the replay ability so much more exciting not only for hard core gamers, but casual gamers that despise online games like Call Of Duty, because of the crazy imbalances in the field of play.
