Skype will soon release a technology that will allow near-real-time translation technology. Still in the early stages there will still be bugs to work out. Microsoft’s new Technology for skype video chat could revolutionize how we communicate from culture to culture.
It has been dubbed Skype Translator. It will be an add-on from research accomplished over many years through Microsoft on text based translator “Microsoft Translator.”It utilizes a technology called Deep Neural Networks. This allows for vast improvements it speech recognition.
It is being released as a windows 8 beta test app by the end of this year. Once the bugs have been worked out, Microsoft will release it for free to its 300 Million plus users. Google is in the works building its own live voice Translation integration as well that will be built directly into Android. We will release more information on this as we get it!
